Performing the cross-air coin game

Begin your performance by showing your audience that you will magically transfer the coin from one hand to the other. They probably won’t believe it. You try to convincingly show that you have spent a lot of time practicing the art of manipulating objects that have been forgotten for a long time. The more suspicious they are, the more interesting the magic trick will be.

The coin will fall out of your hand even if you do not open the palm. It’s easy to make mistakes at this step; so, right at the start, you need to make sure the coin is placed in a position where it can easily pass through this gap.

Move the fist above the other hand and drop the coin without opening the palm. This looks like you’re twirling the fist in the other hand and what the viewer doesn’t see is the moment the coin falls into the other hand. As soon as you feel the coin drop, you will make a fist with your other hand.

Ask the viewer which hand the coin is in. Maybe they will choose the original fist because you haven’t opened it to transfer the coin to the other hand.

If they choose a second hand, ask them to explain why you can switch coins between your hands if you don’t have magical object manipulation abilities.

Performing magic elbow

Prepare for the show. Show your viewers that you can make a coin change color by rubbing it against your elbow. This wasn’t the main goal of the performance, but they didn’t need to know it. This just keeps them from focusing on the goal and not suspecting what you are about to perform.

Or, you can also introduce that you will make the coin disappear. You can say so, but they’ll be prepared to notice your tricks.

Performing the disappearing coin game on the towel

Prepare a towel, a coin and a piece of double-sided tape. You choose a hidden place and stick a piece of double-sided tape to one corner of the towel so that no one can see it. Make sure the coin will stick to the tape.

You should choose the towel as draped as possible. Thus, when you show the viewer clearly the middle of the scarf with the coin placed on top, the edges of the scarf will hang down, and other people will not be able to see it.

Fold the corners of the towel in the center, starting with the corner with the tape. You will fold each corner of the scarf in turn to the center. After folding the corners, you will make the coin disappear. However, you need to first ask the audience to verify the coin is still there. That way, people won’t be suspicious.
