How to Make Automatic Piston Doors in Minecraft

This article shows you how to create an automatic Piston door when you stand on a pressure sensor plate in the Creative mode of the video game Minecraft. You can do this in the desktop, mobile, and console versions of Minecraft.

Dig a hole of size 2x2x3. You need to dig a hole two blocks deep, two blocks long and three blocks wide.

Dig two trenches of wire. When looking at the three-block wide side, you need to dig a two-block trench from the middle block, then remove the top block in front of you. Repeat this step on the other side of the pit.

Place redstone at the bottom of the hole. You will create a 2×3 redstone grid.

Place redstone torches at the end of each trench. This torch will be placed on the raised block at the end of each trench.

Place cobblestone blocks above the redstone torches. You will probably need to place a block on the side of the torch first, and then attach a second block to that block for it to work.

Place the Sticky Piston in front of each raised block. Face one of the blocks covering the redstone torch, place the Sticky Piston in front of that block, and repeat this step with the remaining raised block.

Place the sticky piston on top of the two sticky pistons. Face one of the Sticky Pistons, select the top one, and then repeat this step for the other Piston.

Place redstone on top of each raised block. This is the step that activates the Sticky Piston at the top.

Place the door components in front of each adhesive piston. You need to place a total of four solid blocks (such as cobblestone) in the center of the Sticky Piston frame.

Place two pressure plates in front and behind the door. You need to place the pressure sensing disc on the ground, directly in front and behind each post of the door element.

Try the door. Stand on both pressure sensor plates at the same time to make the door open, then go through the door. You should be able to step through without a problem.

You can build something around the door to hide how it works.

Advice

When adding this mechanism to an existing shelter, you can add additional decorations (such as paint brush) to avoid having to place additional blocks.
Here’s a good way to hide the secret door. To hide the pressure sensor disc, if it is a pressure plate (light and heavy) then you can put a block of gold (gpd) or iron (iron) under it depending on the pressure sensor plate. For wood and stone discs, you can place wooden plank blocks or stone blocks. You can also hide the redstone workings with blocks and hide them with mountains, shelter walls, or something else.
